Byllie Jean, a talented NZ musician, approached me with a simple question: Can you create an animated music video on a budget?
With limited resources but a clear vision, the key was careful planning and efficient production.
During our consultations, they shared their inspiration—a classic Noir aesthetic. This was a perfect fit, as the black-and-white style naturally aligned with a budget-friendly approach. We decided on an illustration-focused animation style, both to keep costs down and to ensure that every frame received the care it deserved.
I worked closely with my team, managing production, coordinating communications, illustrating, and animating. Time was our biggest asset. With a well-structured production schedule, we were able to maximize quality while staying within budget.
This project was an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role, guiding a team through a creative challenge and delivering a music video that stayed true to Byllie Jean’s vision.
